I don't ever remember coming across a thread on this topic, so I thought I'd start one.

I'm wondering if I'm the only one that has take whole days off of work due to a tank issue. I know I'm not so let's share!

I guess I'll start. I have taken days off just to sit home and wait for coral shipments, equipment shipments, live rock shipments, and once had to come home because I got a call at work saying my 125 was leaning against the wall because the stand had broken! Talk about an emergency trip to the LFS for a new stand! Almost forgot about this one, I once had a live rock shipment delivered TO work. HAHA My poor co-workers couldn't stand the smell so I had to put the rock in my trunk. ;)

Yup !

I've taken days off work to babysit my tank through a power outage.

36 hours of running the genorator on and off as needed, making sure the battery powered air stone was running, keeping an eye on the temp...

Definitely called in sick for a power outage. I took a day off because transferring from one tank to another took more than the weekend, and I'm pretty sure I've also sat at home acclamating new deliveries.

I am at home during lunch a lot to do things. Yesterday, I installed a filter sock and rearanged my skimmer. When I got home from work, I did not have to do anything but sit and enjoy the tank......... heh heh...... :)

Does a 4 hour lunch at the LFS count? I think I was doing some marketing while staring down the frags.

Absolutely. I've taken plenty of half days for rock deliveries, live aquaria deliveries and to do other things that I haven't had enough time to do because I'm always working on or fiddling with the tank.

My tank is at work, so no need to miss work! My co-workers are fascinated by the clownfish and crabs.

I work from home all the time, so I don't have to take off, I can just sneak into the family room and suck out flatworms.

I used to call n sick so I could do tank maintenance, but now I just setup the webcam and stare at it in my office computer. The RK2's online monitoring helps too!

showoff

I work from home a couple days a week, and almost always end up doing something to my tank. The wife always says...aren't you supposed to be working...

What I say...I am working....on my tank... :D

I think we have all been there. Whether it's calling off or working from home, there is always a shipment or a project or something that can always benefit form the 'reef flu'

cough cough, matter of fact, I think i may have caught it.

I was just on vacation in florida and had to come back a week early cause my pump quit working. Luckily the syphon breaks all worked! :D If wasn't hooked to my labtop I'd have never known. Havn't decided if thats a good thing or a bad thing!
