Any advantages in having a tank made with black silicone instead of the clean one?
Thanks

What other possible advantages could there be?
I have a marineland deep dimension tank that has it and I love it. I plan on having it on all my future tanks.

My last tank had black silicone, my new one does not and those glowing silicone seams stand out big time compared to the black.

It is purely for looks but it does look a lot better..:)

Ok thanks. I just bought a tank that has black silicone. Might have been a silly question but i was always wondering about why the black silicone ? It does look nice.
Thanks for the input you guys :)

Agreed, my new 90 has the black seams and they just seem to disappear as opposed to the white. Purely aesthetics....

I plan on getting black seems on my 90 (or 70) when i get it. I really like the looks, but like others said....thats all it is.

yep, just went to black from my last tank with clear

the buildup of algae/ coraline on the silicone is not so noticeable and I like the looks of the corners better. Easier to see when you are using an algae magnet. That way you don't tear up the silicone
