This was when I went to look at it after looking at it I decided to get it.

As some of you followed my sweet 12 gal tank http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1664863
I had time to build a new stand and put in the pluming and 40 gal sump. I will be turning this in to a refugium once my skimer and other stuff come in.

This is what I have so far for the new set up

You do realize that this forum is for tanks less than 40 gallons in size, right? This thread needs to be moved to the main forum.

You do realize they do not list that like they do with the other one for 180 gal or bigger.

Just put it in reef discussion or something, lots of people post tanks there.

But this really isn't a nano.

patrick1234
07/02/2009, 08:13 PM
Plz tell me what is then because I have seen ppl say 55 and under is a nano some say 75 and under is a nano andsome say 20 and under is a nano to me a nano is 10 and under but they only have the 2 areas to post for say and one has it listed as 180 and over and this one that has nothing saying how big or small

So If I have a 40gal display and a 210gal sump its a nano?

No its not a nano there are guidlines here to what is and is not considered a nano, please take the time to read through them and then try to find an appropiate place to post your thread.

Thank You!

After receiving feedback from members and after thorough discussion among the staff we've decided to limit posting in the Nano forum to tanks with a main tank of 34 gallons and under. No distinction will be made for conventional tanks or All In One tanks (AIO), or for sump sizes no matter what they may be.

He was joking Patrick... meaning this is the second post of yours today that has people up in arms... If the tank is legit (based on your previous posts I am not so sure) but if it is and you did all that work in one afternoon then I am completely impressed.

Looks like it will be a great tank when things settle down. I am a bit surprised that you have already added fish to the system with no cycle after it had obviously been neglected for so long by the previous owner. Hopefully the fish will make it. For someone with "almost four years" of experience in this hobby I would have thought that would have been a consideration.

Anyway, good luck with the new tank.

Well the fact of the mater is I can keep them in a cramped 12 gal or try to soft cycle this out. And I built the new stand be for I moved the tank so it was not that much to do in a day starting at 5:00am

If the 12 is cycled then it may be safer to keep them in the 12 until the new tank is cycled or you could return the fish (did you just buy them or did they come with the tank?) If you just bought them then I am sure the LFS would be willing to house them or take them back until the tank is up and running. They are really nice fish (and I am sure they weren't cheap) would be a shame for them to die because things got a bit rushed. Just my .02.

Also, did you fill it by just running that garden hose into the sump? Did you just fill it with regular tap water? Hopefully, if you did, you dechlorinated the water and be prepared for a wicked algae bloom.

With regards to the other thread, it is kind of a moot point but I think you are well aware of the threads I am talking about. I think the original title was "?" and it was posted in the Nano section. There were also some other threads were you were offering custom tanks. They are all listed in your profile if you can't recall where they were posted .

HOpe the new tank works out. What are you using for lighting? And, how in the world did you get rid of all the cyano so quickly?

patrick1234
07/03/2009, 09:58 AM
The 12 was just a holding if you look in at the first pics you can see them.

The hose is not to fill but to drain the tank If you look at the pluming I turn off the valve heading up and open the one heading out the door. I was able to get rid of all the cyano so quickly by have 7 32gal trash cans all heated and mixed ready for the tank and did a constint water change as I cleand it all off. Also I keept most of the old water

Also I found what your saying is me trying to sell the custom tanks for one I was asking if I was able to offer them to ppl at cost of materals on this site if any one wanted them. and two NO POST OF MINE has how many tanks I have built and be for you go runing your mouth about somthing you dont know try looking around and you will find pic's of tanks I have built on other sites.

If, before posting in the Nano thread, you'd read http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1582993 , you'd have seen that there are specific guidelines that RC has set up for the Nano Forum.

Also, since you didn't post in the correct area, and then when informed that it was the incorrect area, instead of specifically asking a Moderator to move your thread, and suggesting where it be moved to, you decided to argue instead. That would explain why it was moved to the forum it's now in.

THEN, after it's moved to this forum, you complain about where it was moved to and ask "why....?" Then you use the fact that you have 4 years of experience to show that this shouldn't be in the NTTH forum, yet your signature shows 2 years of experience. Also, following some of your most recent posts, I'm not at all surprised you ended up in the NTTH forum.

Instead of spending so much time and effort arguing your invalid points, why not learn from a simple mistake, and move on? The only reason I can see is because you want this thread to get closed. Well, keep it up and it'll happen.

I also happen to agree with some others. When I read another post you recently made, I got the distinct impression that you were attempting to "get around" RCs rules on selling. In fact, in your Nano thread, you challenge someone to show any thread where you'd attempted to sell any tanks. Well, I'm up to the challenge http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=15123783#post15123783

Patrick, I really don't know what to say... I will run my mouth as much as i would like when I see someone acted the way you have been acting in these posts. I know all I need to know about you from reading your posts. So argue all you want about whether you were trying to sell them, give them away or whatever. The point is that for someone who claims to have so much experience and so much knowledge you should know better....

I am not sure what your problem(s) is are or were... but I think it would be best to just let the issue go. The fish are in a better tank it is a new day. I am not sure what the new problem is and try as I might I cannot figure out what you are were trying to say in the above message (it really makes no sense). Not trying to be rude but is english a second language? If so there is no problem with that, but it would be good to know. If english is your native language then I'm not sure what to say other than turn your spell check on and proof read what you are writing, because it makes no sense.

The sump looks great by the way. Did you build it.

i seriously dont think this is the hobby for you. i have stumbled into many forums you have started and whenever someone trys to help you or give you a suggestion, you argue and say they are wrong and dont know how to take care of a reef tank. unfortunatelly it is obvious that you have issues. i suggest knowing what you are talking about, and who you are talking to before you tell them they dont know anything. most reefers on RC have been here for 5+ years and have had 10+ years experience. THEY know what they are talking about. I am not an expert, and i am still learning. every reefer in the world is still learning, and you should learn more about this hobby before deciding that you know everything. maybe you should try something easier such as freshwater fish before starting a saltwater tank that you "know how to take care of" even though you dont. Im sorry i have to say this but i dont think this is the hobby for you.

Sorry.

DO NOT GIVE THIS GUY ANYTHING. I am currently pressing charges aginst him and his company. Avoid him at all costs.
