Hi all - just thought I would post a couple of pics. My engineer gobies released a clutch of "larvae" (they are really juveniles I suppose since they don't really go through metamorphosis like most marines). These are the babies at about 12 hours post release. Unfortunately these were hatched in my display tank rather than in breeding tanks, so I was only able to siphon out about 50-75 of them. They are smart little buggers and showed strong schooling behavior, and when attacked by the siphon, they all dart back into the parent's cave. These were hatched about a week ago. I had to leave on a research trip to Death Valley the day after the hatch, so I dumped in some nano and tet, along with a bunch of newly hatched brine shrimp into the rearing tank and wished them the best. A week later, most are still alive and kicking, so it seems at least so far, these are ridiculously easy fish to rear. There are even a few still left swimming in the reef tank, despite being a favorite snack for a pseudochromis!
