Dos anyone know how to tell the sex of the CBB (Chelmonrostratus) and / or the Purple tang (Zebrasoma xanthurus)?

there are no sexual dimorphisms that I am aware of

I saw a post on here a while back that said that female tangs had a rough hair/sand paper like area near the area in front of their spines--esp easy to see on zebrasomas.

I don't know if that's definitive but some of mine have it and some don't!!!

I have heard of the rough sand paper area before as well. Not sure which one was male and which one was female though.

I have heard the opposite, with the ones with the rough patch being the males ( with tangs). Don't know if either is correct though

Rough patch = male
They don't get it till they are fairly large though.
