I have the Orbit 150watt MH with the 2 96watt actinics. This is my first time using their lighting, and product..

The distance between the lights and the water surface is about 4.5inches. So Im getting a TINY bit of salt creep building on to the lense of the actinic and metal halide. Should I just forget about the small build up and just wipe the lenses on the lights once a week? Or should I put some kind of cover on the top? If so, what kind of cover would you suggest? Thanks...

Would the 150watt halide burn the mesh since its pretty close?

no you should be ok i think if you used a egg crate it would melt it but just take some small pieces of wood and staple the mesh to it and you got your self a lid... but if your doing it just because of salt creep i would just forget the cover and just keep whipping it off because not by much but it will decrease the amount of light entering the tank
