So I travel alot and would like to put a webcam on my tank, I have a 55 gallon set up in a hallway. I'd like to not have to connect the camera to a computer as i only own a laptop that travels with me. what would you say the best camera would work for this job?

If you have a wireless router, any wireless ip camera should work. You could also go wired. http://www.amazon.com/Linksys-WVC54GC-Wireless-G-Internet-Camera/dp/B0002V8KW2

i am pretty happy with my panasonic bl-30. Quality is as good as i'd expect from a cheaper wireless, but is highly dependent on your internet speed.

I use a Linksys too. The imge is ok, I think I need to do a better job focusing it though. I open my browser at work and leave it up all day while I work. I'm too paranoid about my tank. LOL

The "skip" is really from the throughput on either my ISP or yours. The camera looks nice and smooth, but sometimes the web connection gets slow and that effects the smoothness.

Do you ever find the need to zoom in using your camera? Like if I want to zoom into the sump or something. Not sure if those cameras are expensive.
