6 or 8 pairs is NOT a larger breeding setup, but search around there are plenty of threads on it!!

I have 1 pair and 10 tanks going. It keeps my wife and I busy enough.
6 or 8 pairs breeding full time would keep 60+ tanks full of fry. If you pulled every batch. That's a plenty big setup.

Don't start so big then. You really have no idea how much work this is... Start with 1 pair and go from there. 8-9 pairs would be your life after work. No spare time at all. 1 Pair cuts into enough of my free time for me.

One breeding pair can and will take up about 30-minutes to an hour each day (feeding rotifers, feeding larvae, cleaning tanks, etc...)
I now have four pairs (only 1 actively breeding), in separate tanks, with an 8 tank rack and it is consuming a lot of time and still needs a lot of TLC.
rkelman has some sound advice, start with a pair, work up from there slowly. You do not want to get burned out on something as rewarding as this.

+3 start slow....
We have 1 pair also...
we are still trying our hand at green water, we just started a new batch today, I thought it would be a great summer project for the teens to do!
then rotifers, then brine shrimp, I think once you have all that down, you will be able to at lease feed the fry.
Best of Luck & keep us posted.....

for starters, 6-8 pairs is nothing, you dont get a garantee you will have 2 pairs breeding. Additionally it doesnt take much more than a few minutes extra to care for an additional tank attached to the same system.

6-8 pairs is not nothing. Even 2 pairs is alot of work. Adding pairs isn't a big deal. Its the 8-10 tanks it takes to sustain all of their fry until they are of sellable size.
