What the most amount of water changes i can do. My nitrate levels are high, 20ppm, even after i changed 10 percent of the water, can i change water like 30 percent to reduce nitrates. And can i do this like weekly?

Cottenball shaped pests are popping up, they have a mouth too. Anyways, thanks guys.

20ppm is not a death sentence. Because your tank is 20g I would not do 30%. I would do 10% weekly and see if you can stabalize it down. You can do 15%.

By the way how often do you do a water change and are you consistant with doing them?

Where are you getting your water from? Have you tested it?

i do water change minimum of one week at 10%. I get my water premixed at my LFS. What are all things that cause nitrates, just poo and fish food? I think i want to get rid of my snails, they poo alot. Or do i need them? 5 small ones, 2 large

Keep your snails. Do 10% weekly, you will be fine. I have had trates over 100 for extended periods and no ill effects on live stock.
