My two percula clowns have these brown blotches on them. They used to not have them. They are about 1/4 inch in diameter. I was wondering what they have. They eat right and every other fish in the tank appears to be fine. Thanks!

Did they recently begin to host a coral? When my female clown began to host a frogspawn she got black spots all over her. Even her lips turned black! Its some sort of reaction to the sting from the coral i believe.

She's doing fine to this day, 4 1/2 years later.

It looks the same. But no they havnt begun to host at the moment. Mabe they are sleeping too close to the galexia. Thanks a lot though, I'm not worrying as much now!

My clowns got smaller specks on them when they started to hose a GBTA. From what i have read, its common.

My female clown has 2 black spots, not as big as that. But they have been there for a long time now, and she is just fine.

My clown has them too. I have no lps or anything else in there that would sting him. I think it's genetic.

Wow, I'm glad I'm not the only one. My clowns develop spots as well, the male has more...after reading this thread, I realize they started getting them when they began hosting my pink zoas
