I just today found out about AquaTraders.com.They seem to have very good priceing but 109.99 for a 250 MH thats just cheap! But my question is do I get the quality of a light that cost 399.99 to the AquaTraders.com light that cost 109.99?

That is a great deal. I wish I had found that deal before purchasing my Sunlight pendant. I spent $250 for the pendant, and bulb, plus another $30 for the hanging wire kit. I already had the ballast......and it's only 175w!

If you get it, I would probably replace the bulb with something of better quality.....like a Iwasaki, or radium bulb.

brother has the 48" 250MH and T-5 and it's great.. much better quality then the older models.. worst case you replace some ballasts and bulbs and it's brand new again

most of what i have read the bulbs need to be replaced because they are just about garbage. and most people recomend to replace the ballast to get a better quality light. with that said, you can have an extra $50-$200 wrapped up in the light. i would go with something a little more quality, check the used forums for good deals.

no he hasn't replaced the ballasts or the bulbs. everything looks fine so far and none of the corals are showing any issues to the light.

obviously you get what you pay for so it's not gunna be like the light you get from an Ice Cap ballast but i think it's darn good enough for the price. if for some reason you have issues you can upgrade the ballasts and bulbs..

also remember the Odysea MH bulbs are like $10 but are working good enough. i'll try to get a pic this week

the ballast do not put out what they say, the 250w is 175w and the bulbs suck, for what you would end up spending replacing ballast and bulbs better to just buy a quality fixture from the jump
