Im looking at buying a candy basslet but would like to know more before I drop the loot. Are they easy? reef safe? hardy? aggressive?
My reef tank is a 60g cube with a cleaner shimp, pep shrimp, YT, few chromis, percula clown, purple firefish and a yellow wachmen goby.

its definitely a nice looking fish just want to make sure Im doing the right thing for both the fish and my tank.

The July/August 2009 issue of Reef Life has some nice articles concerning basslets.

There is a thread about them in the liveaquaria forum I believe. Was some really good reading about them. Way too expensive though for my blood. Plus my six line might not like having a look-a-like in the tank lol.

Mine does well in my smaller tank. Definitely reef safe. Initially somewhat cryptic but after it adjusts to your situation, is out and about more, especially at feeding time. By the way, while sixlines don't look like Candy Basslets, I would not trust a sixline with any expensive fish.

I would also beware of the Chromis. Especially if they're well established.
