Bristle Worms spawning??? Please help !

I just went to do a water change on my reef and saw a few aiptasias. I mixed my pickling lime as I have done the past few years and zapped about 4. I started cleaning the glass and BAM. The freakin bristle worms started extending themselves and shooting clouds of white stuff into the tank. It has been going on now for about 10 minutes. My skimmer has gone crazy and my water is so cloudy it looks like milk. I have had this tank for several years and have NEVER EVER witnessed anything like this before. Is it spawning and if so is it going to harm anything in the tank ??? Help a freaked out reefer please !!!!!!!

The "spurting", for lack of a better word, stopped and nothing seems to be out of whack from it. I continued with the water change but am still a little freaked out by what happened. If anyone can tell me if this was indeed spawning, I would greatly appreciate it.
