I put it in the water (10 gallon frag tank) about 1hr ago. I adjusted the bubbles to underneath the collection cup, is that right?
How long did it take for you guys for skimmate to start being produced?

Sounds right to me. When i got mine, It started skimming right when i turned it on. No break in time on mine. You should start seeing skimmate by tonight or tomorrow morning i bet..

The bubles started to rise up a little bit but now they are down, about same level or below were they where when I first adjusted it. I tried adjusting it a little but the bubble level won't go any higher. Should I just leave it alone?
Btw this is my first skimmer.

Sounds like it is still breaking in, mine did the exact same thing. Leave it for now.
+1 to what skip2142 said!

LOL I guess I had it on too high. The cup filled with saltwater.
I turned it down. :)

That happens once in a while. It happened to me a few times when i forgot to turn the skimmer off when i was dosing medications for redslime and other things. If you dose stuff like that, the skimmer will go crazy and fill with water VERY quickly..

Bah. I reduced it and the bubble level dropped below the container so I increased the flow again and filled up another cup of sw... lol

Well it's working good now. Nice, brown skimmate coming out. It took about two days to break in.

Do you guys know if this will fit inside an AP24 back chamber with the hood closed or would it need to be modified still?

I dont think it will. It doesnt fit in a nanocube without the hood taken off either.

this guy makes very cool media baskets for the rear chambers & he also has square collection cups for that skimmer. i know he has them for the biocube tanks, but not sure about aquapod, but worth checking

Alright. I'll try. I've emptied it twice so far, it just filled up like an inch of the collection cup and I didn't want to look at it so I cleaned it out..... and I'm OCD like that... lol
I'll try to remember to get a picture tomorrow when the lights are on.

ooo cool! Thanks Lance for the pic! Are you happy with it so far? Any concerns or anything like that? Is it noisy? Sorry for all the questions but i'm curious since i'm thinking about getting one :)

Well right now the tank is in the kitchen but it's not very noisy. It's actually pretty silent. The only thing I can hear is the bubbles breaking. In about a month it will be in my room but I don't think it will be a problem at all.
It seems to be doing a good job. I haven't even had it a week so I can't really tell how much but it's producing brown skimate so that's gotta mean something.
I like it :)
