When I get a fish that will not eat I go to my local grocery store and buy a jar of minced garlic and simply add it to the water. This for me gives the fish a appetite and will start eating usally after just a few hours.. Try it if you want..

My QT tanks has some LR and sponges to maintain the biological filter and it is always running. It has a Remora Pro HOB skimmer and an 8 watt UV system. Two powerheads for flow and some 2" pipe to provide extra hiding places.
My QT is an 'as needed' setup, not continuous. I use a canister with sponges, rather than a filter sponge. GFCI, surge protector, lights, timer, heater, thermometer, air-stone, a few PVC fittings for hiding places, and an ammonia alert badge. Bare-bottom, no liverock. Run the sponges on the display a week prior to starting the QT. This will "seed" the biofilter.
