I have encrusting sponge growing in my tank. Normally I would think that is a good thing. The only problem is it encrusts underneath my Monti caps. In one case my Idaho Grape had so much it wouldn't adhere to a rock like my other caps. Don't get me wrong all my caps are growing beyond my wildest dreams despite the sponge encrusting. I pulled some off and brushed it with a sterile toothbrush. I also pulled some off where some of my frags were getting light blocked. Does anyone have another natural way of controlling sponge growth? I don't want to put a rock beauty or moorish idol in for fear of them munching one something I really want to keep,
