Very confused here guys. I am trying to figure out what size PVC coupler is used on the NW-200 Gate Valve mod. I have a plethora of 1.5" and 2" PVC fittings here including gate valves in both sizes. However, 1.5" couplers are way too small and 2" are WAY too big. I realize I am adapting to metric PVC here thus the need for thicker cement but I am clearly missing something here.

I realize Marine Solutions has a complete kit with all the right fittings but, again, I should have everything here necessary to do this myself.

Thanks for any suggestions.

My dial calipers have confirmed the outside diameter of the drain pipe on the skimmer to be 1.969" (50mm). 1.5" PVC has an OD of 1.900" so they must clearancing a 1.5" coupler to get it to slide onto this pipe. Time to get out the Dremel.

Gentlemen, we now have a successful fit!

This morning, I took the 1.5" coupler along with a drum sander bit over to my dads workshop and went to work on one end of it on his drill press. The coupler now fits really smooth and is now cemented into place using heavy duty PVC cement (green can).

The pipe used in most skimmers is metric and impossible to find. The octos usually now come with metric to US size adapters.
