I have two tunze 6100 in my 90g reef. I have them tuned down a good bit. I want to be able to use their full power in bursts, longer low power intervals, and maybe a few other variety of strength/duration.

I have an ACjr so the aquasurf module would work but the 7096 is actually cheaper and it is made for the tunze pumps.

I figure the aquasurf can power a variety of pumps but vortechs are already controllable to a high degree. I do not plan on using koralia pumps in the future. I will probably stick to tunze and possibly a vortech I i upgrade down the road.

Which one should I get?

I would go for the 7096, smply because it will be easier to program.

Good point. With the ACjr I have to pop it off and bring it to the desktop. I am guessing any laptop built after 1995 has a serial port! Or I have to mash buttons for a hour on the unit.

The 7096 needs a computer to program also, a USB connection:).

Another plus for the 7096 is an easier, one button feed control. I know the AS has one, but its a couple buttons to hit.

I just setup a 7096 about two weeks ago. It was a pleasure to install. Easy setup and nice features. I would recommend the product and would buy again. Enough said.
