I love them all and i finally upgrade my lights to a nova extreme. I gonna try the easiest SPS because i probably cant keep up with the constant param checks and making sure everything is perfect but i will try real hard. So my question is, what is the easiest SPS coral to keep? I know they are all hard but i really want to try one! Thx

Montis, and Digi's.

You could be awesome and go with the Pink Lemonade, or Kandelight. Go big right outta the gate.

monti's, hydnophora seem to well in tanks with varying param's. we keep all types of sps in our 125 at work the temp fluctuates a lot no one does water changes ect. ect. an everything does great and is growing insanley fast especialy montiporas and hydno's

montis and birdsnest.

don't do hydnophora or other aggressive corals as a beginner, cause then they're there for the longest, and will grow a lot and cause problems down the road.

green slimer is easy and by far is 1 of my fave.

How many would you suggest adding at once in the beginning?

Get a coral that has been aquacultured or a frag of a coral from a friend's tank. Since its your first these are more forgiving then a wild colony thats been shiped all over the world and gets dumped into the LFS tank.
For species I found the Stylos and birdsnest to be pretty hardy

I started with montis, and birdsnest. but once something goes wrong they are always the first to show..very finicky.

SPS are like the Canary in the coal mine, there usually the first to go.
nice, often expensive way of finding out you have a problem

i just got the green apple monti from live aquaria and it is a super easy sps monti with a nice green color. that would be a good starter if you like green

i have a local fish store with thousands of monti frags. i think im gonna get a blue one and green one and put one on top and one on bottom. than try a birdsnest or a slimer later on.

Ohio has 4 clubs. (active that is)
Why not seek out a club and see if some members have frags for sale? You'll pay 1/4 what they want at the LFS.

I've seen purple and blue digi frags for $10 to $15 from local reefers that the stores wanted $25 on up.
