im moving, and putting up a new aquarium, and in order to move everything i was planing on doing some basic rock work, then moving my corals, then fish, and then set up sump and skimmer.

so How long can corals be in a aquarium, with live rocks, and cirkulation, but no skimmer? the water will be ro water.

Don't know about corals, sorry. But I have had a Zebra damsel(if thats it's name) hermits and snails in a ten gallon with about 15-20 lbs. of rock and a HOB filter for about four months now. No skimmer. I've seen threads about skimmerless tanks.

Not savy enough to search and create a link for you. Again, sorry.

There are many healthy skimmerless tanks. They generally need a lighter bioload than tanks with skimmers, but for a short time you should be fine. The only thing that I would be concerned about is that since you are moving the tank there may be a cycle since everything will get disturbed in the move. Make sure to keep a close on your water quality and be ready to do water changes if you need to, particularly if you are disturbing the sand bed.

the sand wouldent be moved before the sump and skimmer is connected, so hopefully that will be ok.
