Skimmer/Refugim Combo

I am looking at using the MSX200 or MSX Mini-S on my 120 reeftank. I am putting in a new refugium (ADHI 45 gallon) and just found out the first baffle is 12". It seems all of the skimmers say they work best in 8-10" of water. Will this 12" water depth be a problem?

Just make a 2-4" stand for the skimmer to sit on....problem solved.

A small stand is definately a good idea. Just make sure the skimmer is firmly secured to the stand. I have set a skimmer on a stand before to find it operating on its side, after it fell over.
