I would like to purchase this skimmer for a 40 breeder SPS tank that I am going to set up.

Is this skimmer any good?
Or do u guys maybe think that it is undersized for my set up?

Let me know... Thanks!

IMO, the bubble magus NAC6 for $138 is a much better skimmer.

I own it, it skimmes my 75 extremely well and has great improvements over the older model. If you like the Octos it is perfect for your set up, however id look at the bubble magus like skimmy said...

the bubble magus looks real nice and the price is right, but i think it might be overkill for a 40 breeder SPS tank

not overkill, just works better than the octo.

I have a NW110 on 37gallon mixed reef (lps/sps heavy) and it does pretty good.

I heard the pump on the vertex is of poor quality and breaks often.

i think if i can get my hands on a used euroreef rs-80, i will be best off. don't u think?

The NW 110 is a piece. The pump never functioned properly from day 1, and it was hard to control when it was working. I tried to return pump back to manufacturer and had to buy a new pump because I returned it to him in "filthy" condition. At least I did get a response from them and they were good at getting back with me.
