So when posting a picture the other day, I found out that what I thought were good hitchikers on some live rock I received, are in fact bad. Well, I have quite a few of these and with consideration of the other creatures in my tank, should I use AptisiaX or just tweeze them out (I have some huge tweezers that I think would get them). I also wouldn't mind picking up some peppermint shrimp if they would surely remove them. I have a fire shrimp but he hasn't even moved to that side of the tank.

Also, should I completely remove the "Brown leafy Algage" pictured below?

What I have:
30Gal Tank
Diamond Goby
Fire Shrimp
True Clown
Anemone (forget which kind)
6 crabs
3 snails

BTW, the reason for that picture at first was about removing the crud that has built up. So before you comment about that (lol) I already am beginning to clean that up.

just use the Joe's juice or AptisiaX and dose heavy in the mouth of that little guy. I don't think tweezers will be effective as he will retract and you might break pieces off and have more. He might come back after you teat him, just do it again. he will bite the dust after once or twice...

Use Aiptasia X thats what I used and it killed those things in no time. Just make sure to turn your filters and powerheads off so the purple stuff doesn't swirl everywhere.

I went to three different fish stores. None of them had either. One of them said he should be getting some in soon.

What will it hurt for me to try and tweeze these boys?

Also, just was wondering. If I were to bare hands touch one of those things, would it sting me?

For reasons cited above, do not tweeze. Call the LFS and ask them to QT and save a Copperband. After a few weeks, pick it up, QT at home and then drop it in the tank, with proper acclimation procedures. If there is an aiptasia, it will eat it.

It looks like the minimum tank requirement for a copperband is 50 gal. I have a 30.

That's crazy, so they don't touch the good ones?

Aiptasia-X worked for me. It took 3-4 applications to get them all, but they have disappeared.

Boiling RO/DI water, a syringe and a needle has always worked good for me on Aiptasia. Just inject some of that hot water right into it. I've even had good results with squirting the water directly into the hole I know they are in.
