Refugium Light cycle - question

I have been running my refugium light on an opposite cycle as my display tank. I have heard of some reefers that run theirs 24/7 and others simultaneously with display lighting.

What are the thoughts here in the community?

I'm sure you'll get many opinions here. If you have chaetomorpha then I think it's best to have a dark period. I run my fuge light 20 hrs/day with good results.
