Anemone problem

I have a small rose tip bubble anemone at least that's what it looks like and that is what it was sold to me as. He does not seem to be doing well he might even be dead, the problem is that he will not let go of the rock does that mean he is not dead? The rock is at the bottom of the tank and did not want to tear down all the rock work to try to move him to the QT tank. Should I just keep an eye on him or what? Thanks for he help Tom

I had a similar incident I purchased several LTA and had a original bubble anemone, then I purchased another bubble due to my first one hiding in the back of my live rock in the back portion of the tank. So after monitoring him I did notice he was looking pale and had sort of a film like goo on him, then the following day I decided to poke him, he then kinda fell apart. So it probably died from starving himself. I later found out that you can hand feed anemones with Krill shrimp i think but shrimp for sure and silver sides is what I purchase and they just love it!

P.S. if he is dead remove him asap and do a 20% water change so that your water balance stays stable. hope this helps I also have post pics of my tank feel free to comment and look.

If he is dead will he still hold on to the rock? Because I have tried to move him and he still holds on. Yes I have tried to spot feed him and holds on to the krill for a little bit then my cleaner shrimp comes and steals it. Thanks Tom

Is the anemone behind the rocks?It sounds like the anemone is fine to me unless I miss read something.

If the anemone is dead, it will melt in a few hours. and all you will see is a pile of pooy mush! :)

what does, "does not seem to be doing well" mean? Why do you think he might be dead?

All of his tips are sucked in and when you put food in front of him he will not hold on to it long enough to eat it. The other one that I had would suck the krill in and it would be gone in minutes. He has rolled in covering up his mouth. But he still holds on to the rock. Here are some pictures. Thanks Tom

what kind of lights do you have? and what about your water parameters? and bioload? other corals? give us some info and i'm sure someone will help you out...before he dies!

I have 2-36 inch fixtures coralife. They have 150 watt MH and 2-65watt PC's, all of the bulbs are due to be changed. They are over a 125 gallon tank not heavily stocked 10 corals mostly frog spawn and about 8 fish small to medium.
my parameters are, KH 10.7, Alk 3.80, Mg 1155, Ca 440, PH8.0, nitrate 0,nitrite0, Amono. 0, Salinity 1.022 I don't know how it got that low, Temp. 80. I will start slowly raising the salinity. Let me know. Thanks Tom

Salinity now up to 1.024. I still do not know what caused it to go down. Thanks Tom
