Hi all,

I'm dosing bulk two part.

Does Calcium container need an occasional shaking?
Does solution separate?

I've noticed some sediment buildup at bottom of dosing container.

1 gallon BRS containers. Maybe after 4-5 refills I notice sediment.

Alk container is clean.

Thanks
Mark

Calcium carbonate will precipitate out when CO2 is introduced into a solution of calcium chloride. This is probably what you are seeing.

If you were to take a straw and blow into a solution of calcium chloride you will see the effect. Your breath will provide enough CO2 to make the precipitation happen quickly.

How does CO2 get into the container ?

Does CO2 adversely affect the calcium solution?

I have a 1 gallon jug with a hole cut in cap for tubing.

CO2 gets into the container from contact with air. By precipitating out (relatively insoluble) calcium carbonate, it reduces the overall concentration of calcium unless there is enough undissolved kalk powder in the container to maintain saturation.
