Wow! How do you keep your sand bed so clean ?

Lighting, 250w MH + 4 T5HO actinics.. bulbs change weekly on the MH lately though.. today running a Radium, picture and video taken with XM 10k, but I also like the Phoenix. Doing lots of PAR testing recently on different bulbs.

Equipment.. nothing special.. 15G sump, remora skimmer, GFO reactor, carbon, cheato... vortech MP40 in the tank. I live by the KISS method.. keep it simple stupid.. seems to work great. No fancy skimmer, no reactors, just an ATO, chiller, and Reefkeeper2 to keep things in check and Kalk top off water with a little B-ionic.

How I keep my sandbed so clean.. closed loop.. the PVC frame in the picture also doubles as the returns on my closed loop. Gentle flow coming out the holes all around the reef makes a nice updraft in the tank, keeping things like dietrus suspended so they don't settle in the sand.. coupled with the undertow the vortech creates it keeps the sand very clean.

Wow the the tank has really grown in sense I got that pump from you. I'll have to arrange a Saturday to some by and see it when I'm in SY. Keep up the good work!

Thanks! It is no K5 or SixtyGallon tank yet.. but slowly getting there. ;) Feel free to stop by when you can, I love showing off the tank in person. Friendly warning.. anyone that comes over I try and pawn off free frags of that Green Slimer.. I can't keep that thing in check, grows faster than xenia it seems. Just in the last year I have made and given away over 50 frags of it and it is still a monster.

Couple more vids I just took with my camera. I wish I had a better video camera now.
