fowleri is a rarer tang and usually cost about a 100 more than a bariene.

Fowleri of course! Bariene are cheaper on other sites. You just have to look around.

My girlfiend ordered me the Acanthurus bariene yesterday and was in this morning at our Lfs (Aquatica). They told me to stop by and check it out if it was the fish I was looking to get.
The fish is about 5-6" in lenth, I wasnt too crazy about the dull colors he was showing kinda dark colors, but that could be due to the stress.
After the drip acclimating process he was in one of the display tanks looking very well. No marks, no ich, and seemed to want to eat after it was in there after awhile.
But after talking to Rob he suggested to leave him there for a few days and let him go through the copper treatment untill Firday or Sat then see how it's doing.
So I'll post some pics of him this weekend.:D

Nice looking fish, looks like they have plenty of room for growing in the future. Alot of people just keep adding stock and not think about har large everything will grow down the road.
What type of filtration and skimmer do you use ?

Well there goes 150 bucks down the drain. I am soooooo P.O.'ed!! I found my bariene tang dead tonight after being in there for a week or so eating great. The only thing I can think of is either the Powder Blue killed him or one of my rocks fell on top of him while he was sleeping.
I didn't even realize he wasn't coming out today since I seen him yesterday or the day before eating to eat.
To be honest I don't think I'm going to add anymore fish for awile.
After my large Valimgii tank is healed and out of Q.t.
It'll be a long time before adding anything else in there besides clean up crew.
I know Rob and Mario at aquatica are going to be pretty upset when I tell them the bad news tomorrow.
I am so frustrated right now I can't even think.

All the LFS around me sell both of them for the same prices. I see the dussemire for less though. And I believe the Bariene doesn't really color up till its around 8"s or so.
