Does anyone know if a bristle worm will attack a brittle star? My brittle was missing a leg this morning when I woke up, and tonight when I found the missing leg, a bristle worm withdrew back into a nearby shell when the flashlight hit him. I have heard that bristles weren't bad for an aquarium, so I haven't been worrying about them, but if they are attacking my inverts, I will definately keep an eye out for them.

Any advice is appreciated!!

He probally just found the leg. It is his task to get rid of it.

agreed. that's how worms get their bad rap - guilt by association. they detect dead/dying tissue way before we do, go to work on it, then get blamed for attacking what appears [to us] to be a healthy coral, clam, etc. be glad you have them!
