I think out of all the fish the Saddleback Butterfly is by far my favorite. I have wanted one of these ever since I was a child and saw my first saltwater tank. Sadly though after finally getting my own tank and doing research on these guys everywhere I read that they eat corals. Has anyone ever kept one in their reef tank with any success?

I'm sure you can keep SOME corals with it... but yeah it's definitely going to eat coral. If you want it that bad, get it, but know you won't be able to keep all coral. It's a decision between choosing your fish around your coral, or choosing your coral around your fish.

I only have one problem now. Somehow I am going to have to let my wife know that I am going to set up a large fish only tank. Crossin my fingers.

You might be able to get away with large leather corals but other than that they will nip too much.

Yeah the only tank I've seen one in only had leathers.
