I just set up a sump and refugium after two years in the hobby with a HOB filter. WOW! Talk about your big differences. Corals like it already! Anyway, I have a 12x12x18 fuge in the sump and was wondering how much mud I should put in? I have already put in 20 lbs of CaribSea sand, and that gets me about 1.5" deep. Is that adequate, or should I add another 20 lbs to get 3".
I dropped in a handful of chaeto, and half a bottle of Tigger Pods, and now have a nice little hospital for my sickly anemone (hoping it can pull through), and a holding tank for the damsel fish I'm gonna send back to the LFS that told me they were chromises until i fish all five of those little bastards out of my display.
