Hi all,
I have an AquaMedic Kalk stirrer that is hooked up to my top off system. I'm running the kalk that came with the unit but the kalk turned a honey brown color? Reaction? I'm topping off with RO/DI water, the water source is from a well. Thanks from any ideas.

A number of people have reported such issues with various kalk products. I'd probably dose it, but watch for signs of trouble. I've haven't heard of any particular problems associated with this type of coloration.

Thanks for the reply, I think I'll replace it tomorrow and see if it happens again.

I have used both the rowakalk and brs kalk and have never seen it turn brown. fwiw

What is the TDS of your RO/DI water? Brown can be many different contaminants of either the kalk or the water. At the high pH of mixed kalk very few things will stay dissolved in the water, and they can cause the left over powder to change color with contaminants.
