Skimming fast or slow?

I have a Euro Reef running on my 120 and I am curious to how everyone skims. I have ran it to where the cup is full in a day or two. I have also run it to where it takes a week to fill the cup. I notice that the slower it skims the darker the skimmate. Your opinions please.

I always opt for wet skimmate - there really isn't any reason not to. There is a thread about it in the advanced techniques section The only drawback is that you need to remember that you're pulling more saltwater, so you need to account for that at some point.
