View Full Version : Attaching frags

I made something for attaching frags that works like a charm, it's reuseable, easy to use, and never damages a frag. I took a piece of 1"PVC and depending what I'm using it for, 1/4" for zoas and 1/2" for shrooms, etc, and cut it into sections. Then I took a piece of fiberglass window screen cut to the same size as the PVC and glued it over one end. Now all you have to do to attach a frag is place the frag on a plug or a rock, put the PVC over it, screen side up, and rubberband it in place. The frag sits in the cage until it attaches itself with no pressure on it at all. After it attaches, remove the rubberband and lift the PVC cage off of it. They work great for anything slimy and hard to glue especially and won't cut into a coral like rubberbands or fishing line. You can make dozens of them for less than $5.

Great idea! How long does it usually take for the zoas to attach?

For me about five minutes, but that is because I try to get some of the coraline or bits of rock off under them. Then I just superglue that to a plug!
