So I finally have my 46 gal bowfront setup I have my sand and water in it with my powerhead runnin but my problem isn't the foggyness it goes away(I hope) lol but I have a hangon overflow an eshopps and an eshopps sump rs-100 my problem is how can I make the water not make splashing noise? It sounds like a waterfall under my tank my first and only idea is 2 use 1 1/4 and about 7 inches long piece of pvc or some tubing so it runs into the water which I belive would make it quiet since it doesn't take a 6 to 7 inch drop any ideas thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by foggyness? Can you take a pic or explain what you mean? Here to help, Chris

Yeah a picture would be very helpful as i'm not sure if you mean that there is sand kicked up in the water column or if the water quality is sub par.

sounds like dust from unrinsed sand. no big deal - just siphon it out next water change

Yeah it's prolly dust from unrinsed sand or sand being kicked up from that water drop and being redistributed through the aquarium which would not be good. A pic of what your talking about would be of big help.

tubing sounds like a great idea. Just put one end inside the pvc overflow and let the other end sit on the side of the overflow box. It should quiet down the sucking noise.
