Think I can keep one in my tank? I have a 72 bow with 4x54w t5's. Would it get enough light at the bottom?

If your T-5s have reflectors above them then yes you could keep a carpet.

Please understand that they are pretty strong and can eat fish and corals. I recommend a night light over the tank to keep the fish from accidentally wandering into it. Most fish deaths happen as soon as the lights go out and the fish darts for their sleeping hole but their eye sight hasn't adjusted to the darkness.

What type of "carpet" ? A Gig, Haddoni or Mertensii ?

Is one easier than the other?

All nems are hard to keep long term. Of the carpets, you are most likely to have luck with s. haddoni. The other two are among the most difficult.

Has anyone tried to keep them with 4x54w t5s?

Well, t5's are considered the equivalent of a 14k halide (I think), so yes.
