Among other things, I have a diamond goby, peppermint shrimp and cleaner shrimp in my 75g. I think I've seen my cleaner shrimp clean my flame angel ONCE in 4 months (not for lack of trying on the shrimp's part). No other fish will give Pierre (cleaner) the time of day. In the past few weeks, I've noticed that my diamond goby camps out by a particular rock, opens his mouth and widens his gills several times a day... I just realized the rock he's standing next to is where my PEPPERMINT shrimp lives.
The goby's been doing this for weeks and the peppermint shrimp (obviously) doesn't clean him. But when my cleaner shrimp comes near the goby (his station is on the other side of the tank), the goby runs away!
Any tricks to help them find each other? Or do I have to watch the goby be disappointed and dirty/ the cleaner be disappointed and lonely/ the peppermint continue to be confused?!
