My tank is about 8 months old now, for the last 2 weeks when i get up i have 1 or 2 hundred baby snails on the glass all over and after the MH comes on they leave. My question is should i have that many or should i do something to try and thin then out maybe a reef safe fish that eats snails ? what should i do? Thanks in advance I hope i put this in the right thread

I'm guessing there most likely collonista snails. If they've become unsightly, your best bet is just to manually remove as many as you can right before a water change. Some LFS will trade with what you bring in.

i read somewhere that u should have like 3 to 4 per gallon as far as cleaner things go, but i only have like 1 per gallon right now and that seems like alot when i look in the tank.gonna be dailing it back a bit soon
