does apex work without the display?

Just curious I had to send my display back (stopped working). Will the apex work without it? When I sent it back I was crawling though the setup and never finished. In fact I was having such a hard time with the instructions I had a friend come over he has an ac3. I can't send e-mails yet and I can't even turn on an outlet. The outlet says manual on and to the far right it says on, but when I plug in a light it does not work. Have any ideas? There is so much info it is hard to be specific, if there is anything you need to know to help resolve my problem let me know.

When I first installed my Apex on my tank, I did not have the display plugged in. My base unit get rebooting about every 10 seconds.

I understand that the plan is to allow the Apex to be headless (no display). I expect the issue (wwanthony) mentions is/will be fixed.
