Has anyone experience Quiet One pumps having this issue?

Power cord peels, exposing the inner power wires right where they meet the plastic housing.
I thought mine was from somehow mishandling ?? (It sits inside the sump how can it be mishandled?)
I've seen a few and most recently on a posting in the buying/selling forum

I used one once upon a time. Everytime I lost power or had to power off the pump for maintence, it would have a hard time restarting. I got sick of fiddling with it.

I've heard a lot of people having problems. Since then I replaced mine with an Ehiem and use the old one for water changes.

I have had my share of issues with the QO pumps but not like that - and I have 4 QO pumps. All mine are re-start issues. I fixed those with better cleaning.

I have always used QO pumps for my returns and have been very pleased with there performance. I also usually give it a vinegar bath at least every 6 months.
