I really like the quality + build of this system and the legs for the stands are higher compared to the previous Orbit system I had, so no more salt creep build up. With that said, the corals are already starting to like it. Before i had the 150 watt HQI MH ( 14k phoenix bulb) plus 2 65watt PCs. Now I can see my Zoas actually sprout more upwards and this is with the screen and eggcrate on top. The bulb I have on the 250 is also the 14k Phoenix. Cant wait for my corals to be fully acclimated so I can take off those screens..

That is rockin light system Coral. Your tank, corals , and your 1 fish :D look great. I have a question, why are you using a canister filter?

I run GFO and GAC in my canister. Not to mention poly filter pad and the unit has a built in UV sterilizer to. With that said, the return spray bar is pointed down in the back of the tank eliminating any dead spots. I also change my media in the canister every week. So no build up of any kind occurs..

No plans on adding more fish. Matter of fact I wasnt planning to put ANY fish in this system, but unfortently my buddy is going through a divorce and had to give up his 45gallon reef, along with this tang. So thats how I ended up with it. With that being said, the tank is a 60gallon cube 24X24..

Yeah thats a CPR. You can do both ways though.. At my restaurant on my 100 gallon FO tank. I also have a CPR overflow box with a rio powerhead hooked up to it. Its been running like that for 7 years. Shoot sometimes my rio even gets jammed, but the CPR box just keeps flowing and going havent touched it nor cleaned it either..

Rando,
Yes that big orange knobby sponge has been thriving. Here are some pics of other types of sponges in my system. All of the sponges have grown and expanded..

I have yellow sponges growing all over my tank, I read that it's a sign that your tank is very healthy...so a good thing

they also filter feed the water and clean it for you...double wammy
