Has anyone ever used one of these(^) for aquatic use?My wife ordered 2 of them for me.Its a electronic HID dimmable ballast for 320-400 watt pulse start MH lamps.
I plan on running a 250w se bulb, but am not sure what will look good.Im probably going to run a 14k bulb w/ t5 actenic.I

Thats a 200-277 volt ballast and the only lamp for aquarium use it will run is a 400 watt bulb.

My advice send it/them back and buy a proper 250watt ballast. Unless you plan to run a 220v line to your tank and don't mind running 400w bulbs.

thanks Dave,
i got the ballast's for free. One question is that my wife talk to the electrical super that works under her and said i need to hook up the yellow wires(120v)and that will run 250w bulbs.Im i missing something?
I have 400's on my tank now and i was hoping this ballast would work so if i want to go back to Helio 400w/20k i could with out switching ballast;s.

what do you think?
