Salinity/specific gravity

mixed reef I believe they recommend 1.0264

Check this (http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-12/rhf/index.php)

make sure what ever your using to check your salinity is accurate (take a sample to your LFS and have them check it and see if they get the same results)

How low was the salinity?

Note: do not let your salinity change drasticly in a short period of time

1.023 is not a bad salinity. However, if you want to raise the salinity you cant do it that fast all at ont time.

Doing it that fast in a 30 gallion is going to shock everything WAY too fast. Your going to kill things.

If you need to raise the salinity, you should add the salt water as your top off water. And raise it slowley over a few days.

What are you using to read your Salinity ?

If you are using one of those Cheep Plastic swing arm things.....IMO....Toss it in the garbage.

Get a good Refractometer.

If you need to raise the salinity ( or lower it ) do it slowly
