Long story short my neighbor dumped a ton of laundry soap into a 90gal. tank that was about half filled with water. The tank sat with the soapy water in it for a few days. I was planning on using it as a sump and want to get it cleaned of all residue from the soap. Anyone have any ideas as how best to clean it out and make sure its completely safe for use??? I rinsed it really good but wasn't sure that would be good enough????

You could try soaking it with a water and vinegar mix, but as long you don't smell anything I wouldn't be too concerned about it.

I used dawn dish soap as a lubricant when drilling my 55g. I filled and drained the tank twice then washed it down with vinegar, then filled it and drained it a third time. Right now a candy cane, duncan, and some mushrooms are living in it happily, so I figure it was a success.
