Old bucket of unopened salt

I have a unopend bucket of reefcrystals that I picked up in 2005.

will all the trace elements be potent or should I just get a new bucket

If it is not solidified I would mix up a batch and test it. If all checks out ok. I would use it.

If it is solidified, dump it: it will have lost its buffering ability, and you will go nuts trying to buffer it: the next step is massive calcium deposits in pumps and hoses...nasty.
