i just bought 50lbs of key largo dry rock. Is there anything i should do to them before i put them in an already established tank

Thanks for your business.

The Key Largo rock will be 99.9% free of organics and the ability to create ammonia. So safe? technically yes.

I'd still not recommend adding it directly though. When adding any large dead mass you'd probably trigger some type of nuisance outbreak ~ Diatom likely.

Better would be to liven it some first, a simple week in a tote with a power head and some seed rock, sand or my favorite Turbo Start 900 would assure you a pain free transition.
