Strange macro algea

I have had this algae in my tank for a long time now, never really paid much attention to it as it never over grew anything and always stayed where it was. Over night it has turned from green, thin and leafy to a more blue/gray and is budding on the leaves..anyone know what is going on?

Here it is 'normally' in the bottom left of the tank...

Here it how it looks today, the 'leaves' have budded small pod like things ?!? Sorry...best pic's I can get with my phone.

Thats what I was afraid of, the birdsnest frags in front have already lost some color...I tried to get as much as possible out, we will have to see.
