I had noticed one of my zoa frags wasnt looking too good. most of the polyps were covered in a whitish film and not opening or seemed to be open but very tiny. I have been trying to notice when lights were out if they were being bothered by anything. Today I found a Stomatella on it. Are these harmful? Everywhere I have read say they are safe, but just want to be sure.

you sure it was a stomatella and not a nudibranch?

Stomatellas may cause them to close when they crawl over them, but they definitely dont eat or harm them. Most likely it was eating whatever is growing on your zoas.

Pretty sure it was stomatella. It detached its "tail" when I moved it.

If it was stomatella, it'd be the first time I've heard it doing such a thing
