OK, so I noticed the 48" PC Odyssea fixture I purchased in February had the bulb connectors melting and cracking. I would come home to find one of my lights not working all the time and you have to whack on stuff to get it on. It was terrible. But for $100 shipped what can you expect (something that wont burn your house down at least?!)...

Anyways I found a set of "end caps" on ebay and bought 4 of them shipped for about $22.

Had a friend help install them (he did it all really), and he soldered the end of each wire, and then it slips in.

Problem solved.

I suggest doing this if you have these lights. For another $20 it actually makes it a decent fixture IMO.

I have 2 sets of the Odyssea MH/PC combo lights, they have those same plugs for the PCs,the problem is,the terminals are just crimped.........I had 2 of the PC ballasts to burn out,I replaced them with a brand named ballast, when I rewired the plugs I noticed mine starting to do like yours did,I took all of mine apart and soldered the terminals, that fixed the problem, what they are doing is barely getting connection in the terminal and arcing, that is causing the plug to heat up and ultimately melt.......anyone who buys the Odyssea PC lights should take the plugs apart and solder those terminals and all the other wire connection in them for that matter,as they are just crimped too :D

those plugs that you used are much better though

Yeah, I had originally tried filling the plugs with dielectric grease a couple months ago... But some soldering or new plugs are the way to go. Thanks!
