I have heard of folks covering them up with something.... Hard to remember if it was reef putty or kalk paste. You'll have more luck searching the forums for "colonial hydroid", if you haven't done this already.
I noticed that I had a small colony a long time ago and I simply rolled the liverock piece over so they were buried. Of course, this will not work on a well aquascaped and coral rich tank as well as an empty non livestock tank.

Just guessing
keep looking maybe there's another way this might not be a way you would like to go
It's going to be tough like using a paring knife/steel wire brush and poping/scrapping them off in a seperate bucket
and the one's you can't get you can dry the rock out or pop the coral off then dry the rock out
So pretty much take out all your rock that don't have coral and dry them out if your tank is infested with them
then work away with the rest that are left and not until your sure they are all gone then you can add the other rock back
This is probably unrealistic

Some people have had success with using kalk paste but you gotta be careful with it. If you could remove the rocks and do the kalk method outside of your tank to prevent any type of spreading from them. You just cover the hydroids with the paste made from Kalk and water, and leave them in a bucket overnight. Then the next day, rinse it with tank water thoroughly making sure all the kalk paste is gone completely and then put it back in your tank. I know some people who have done this with 100% success.
Or you could try using epoxy putty by covering the entire colony tightly by pressing it into the rock working from the outside edge in. It's not as successful because you have the chance of missing some of the polyps and/or potentially having them release some spore like things which will cause them to spread more in your tank. But I'm sure if done carefully,it's worth a try especially if you can't take out the rocks.
What I did with mine, since I only had a few mini colonies on 2 rocks,I just had my friend blow torch it off with one of those hand held blue flame ones. But the only drawback was that my rock had a little black stuff on it from the torched hydroids but it scrubbed off. It's kinda like killing the rock but not really. My friend didn't blow torch the whole rock. Just around the parts where they were located. It was quick and easy. I did place it in a separate tank before putting it back in my tank and all was well after. Never came back. It also has to do with controlling your nutrient levels so they won't have anything to feed off of and they eventually die off. Good luck with it!

The Lynx Nudibranch is the solution for this hydroid. It is available off the cost of Southern Florida. Not able to find a retailer for it yet.
